Wow, I'm due! My last blog post was April 2nd!
I have been busy working with a new medium - resin. I decided that I wanted to make my own pendants, especially so that I could make music-themed ones, so I did some researching and learned that resin was the way for me to go. Of course, like everything else, it's been a learning experience! It's been really fun to experiment with it, whether clear in its own state or with powdered pigments, to see what kinds of effects I can create. Resin can be very unforgiving, especially with the bubbles, so technique is important. But for those who know me, you know I read everything I could find online, and checked books out from the library. :-)
There are so many ways to be creative with it and I have just started to scratch the surface. You can use 3D objects to imbed into the resin, or use it as a protective shield over an image. You can color it, marble it, and texture it. I'm excited to keep trying new things!
I've posted a new section called "Behind The Scenes" and there are a few pictures of resin creation. Take a look and stay tuned for some cool resin designs!
